When I was in second grade, I created my first blog. I dubbed myself "the Learning Witch," and my blog was called "Home of the Learning Witch." Predictably rife with spelling errors, I used it to share things I had learned. It was truly quite far-reaching as far as content goes. I wrote about fish, I implored people to recycle, I posted "math facts" (that were just multiplication tables), and I wrote mini-articles about my favorite celebrities. I retired the blog in December of 2011.
However, my time on the internet was not finished. I created the name "Lonely Lamppost" when I was fourteen years old, after my pre-AP English final exam my freshman year of high school. After years spent online consuming content, I wanted my own corner of the internet where I could share the things that interested me. What that meant to fourteen-year-old me was an instagram meme page (a product of the time); what it means to me now is a return to blogging. At the time of this blog's creation, I am finishing up my first year of law school. I am experiencing all of the anxieties about my future that come from being in my early-mid-twenties, the demands of law school, and to top it all off, a second Trump administration is adding more stress to my daily life than all of the above.
This blog is a place for me to post my thoughts on the things going on in my life. I like having my little internet niche, and somewhere central to put all the things.
