My Dearest Friends,
I remain ever awkward in the salutation part of emails, so of course that translates to a blog as well. I'm sure this is only being read by my closest friends who I trust to send this embarrassing little endeavor. At this very moment, I am supposed to be studying for my civil procedure final, but instead I am connecting with my inner child and starting a blog.
Connecting with your inner child, you might ask. Well, when I was in the second grade, I made a blog on this very platform (then "Blogspot," now "Blogger"). I printed out the url on copy paper and handed it out to everyone at school. It was named "Home of the Learning Witch." I was, if you had not guessed it already, the Learning Witch. I considered taking the helm up again, but I am not a witch so I did not really feel good about the ethicality to taking that term for myself. However, those naming conventions were still nice for obtaining a unique domain, so, here we are.
Somethings about me (ergo, this blog):
1) I love using commas and I love using them incorrectly.
2) I read a moderate amount. "Moderate" being the description I landed on because I wanted to say "a lot" but the fact is, I have never broken 100 books in a year. So I did not feel qualified to say "a lot" lest the voracious readers of the internet attack me.
3) I have always loved to hear myself speak. There are very few things I will not form an opinion on.
4) I currently have three library cards, and a membership to the local zoo.
5) I think that my average Goodreads review is around 4 stars, because life is too short to read books you don't enjoy. Very rarely will I finish a book that I will rate under 4 stars, thats just how it is.
So, without further ado, welcome to my blog.
Yours truly,
The Lonely Lamppost
